Shipping and Delivery

Free VIP Shipping

All McKenzie House VIP customers qualify for free shipping within NZ on all products other than bulky or oversized items such as headboards, squabs, furniture and long curtain tracks. 

Non VIP members will be charged a flat rate to any physical address* within NZ as follows: 

  • $15 per item up to 1.5m long
  • $30 for each item over 1.5m and up to 2.4m long

*Please note we do not ship to PO boxes.

For all bulky and oversized items the relevant freight charge will be added in the checkout at the time of ordering.

VIP members outside of NZ do not qualify for free shipping. For international shipping costs please contact us to request a quote. All domestic tax, custom duty and import charges in the destination country will be your responsibility. 

Delivery Times

Fabric

Fabric is sent directly to you from our suppliers. If it is in stock in NZ at the time of your order, in most instances it will be delivered to you within 1-2 weeks. If it is sent from an Australian warehouse the delivery time is usually 2-3 weeks. Fabrics that are sent from the UK, US and Europe can take 4-5 weeks.

If a fabric you have chosen is out of stock with the supplier at the time of your purchase, you'll be advised of the ETA of the next shipment and given the option to either wait or receive a full refund.

Custom Made Items

All custom made curtains and roman blinds take an average of 6 weeks to be made and delivered from the time of ordering. At very busy times of the year (autumn/early winter and pre-Christmas) this timeframe can get extended to 8-10 weeks. 

For roller blinds, venetian blinds and other smaller soft furnishings (eg cushions and bedding) the delivery time is approximately 4 weeks.

For custom made curtain tracks and rods the delivery time is around 3-4 weeks.

For all custom made items you will be given an indication of the ETA soon after placing your order.

"Off the shelf" items

For items that don't require custom manufacture, such as woollen throws and curtain holdbacks, and are in stock at the time of ordering, the delivery time is normally between 1-2 weeks. 

Receiving your delivery

Please check your goods carefully.

It is your responsibility to inspect any package for damage prior to signing a freight company’s receipt docket. If there is visible damage to the packaging it is ideal if you can open it in front of the delivery driver and inspect the items for damage. If the items are visibly damaged please write this clearly on the docket.

If it isn't realistic or possible to open the package at the time of delivery, you must at least make a note on the courier’s docket to indicate the nature of the damage - eg. "parcel received bent", "parcel crushed" or simply "parcel damaged".

The details of any goods delivered damaged must be reported to us by email within 48 hours of delivery otherwise goods will be deemed to have been received in good order and no further claim will be allowed.

NB. If you have given us "authority to leave" your parcel on your premises without a signature, the goods will be deemed to have been received in good order and no subsequent claims can be made for loss or damage. We do not recommend this option and always advise delivery to an address where a signature can be obtained.
