Well-designed and constructed squabs are the perfect way to maximise the use of window seats, other leisure areas and outdoor furniture.

McKenzie House squabs will fit your seating perfectly and I'll choose the correct grade of foam to achieve the ultimate comfort level for your particular application.

Create your own squabs using the easy-to-follow guide below.

Please note: Our squab making service is only available for Auckland customers.

Download a Quote Request Form for Squabs here. This handy worksheet has been created to make it easy for you to fill in as you progress through the steps below. Save it on your device or print it out.

When you've finished simply save, scan or take an image of it and attach it, or transfer the information on it, when you request a quote at the bottom of this page.

Step 1. Give your squab a name/ID for future reference.

Step 2. Choose your style from below:

      Top-Stitched Seams

Borders/gusset can be either the same fabric as the top and bottom panels or a contrast fabric.

      Piped Seams

Piping and borders/gusset can be either the same fabric as the top and bottom panels or a contrast fabric.

Step 3. Would you like indoor or outdoor foam? For outdoor seating there is the option of choosing an outdoor foam. This will add extra cost but if your outdoor squabs are likely to get wet this option is advisable for longevity.

Step 4. Choose your main fabric here and record the name, colour and supplier

Step 5. If you've chosen 'Piped Seams' style and would like a different fabric from the main panels, choose the fabric for your piping. Otherwise, write "same".

Step 6. If you'd like the side borders/gussets to be a contrast fabric choose the fabric for these. Otherwise, write "same"

If you already have your own, I'm more than happy to work with your fabric. On the Quote Request Form simply state “own” in the fabric column and give the width of your fabric and the size of the pattern repeat (if any) in the area for notes at the bottom of the form (email me if you need help with the pattern repeat).

Step 7. Download this measuring guide and measure your squab.

Step 8. Save your completed Quote Form and attach it or use it as a reference when you request a quote below.

Got a question or special request? I'm happy to help!

If you don't see the style you'd like in the options above please email me as most styles can be custom-made to your requirements.
